About

I am a father, former teacher and a retiree who likes to do gardening work to keep myself fit.

Nobody can say they are experts in gardening, there are always new things to learn even in a small backyard. Reading other gardening blogs and books is a great way to learn and be inspired.

Some gardening tips offered by my friends work and some don’t, it is trial and error but you get a sense of accomplishment when problems in the garden are resolved.

It is good to share gardening tips with one another which enhance the otherwise boring and laborious gardening work.

Besides gardening, another passion of mine is travel, especially to Asia. Since my retirement, I have been racking up air miles, with my wife in tow. Influenced by her half Thai-half Singaporean heritage, I am a big fan of spicy Asian food. That is for another blog though.

I am on Twitter most days (@paulgarden1) and try my best to reply to DMs. Cheers!

We’ve paid enough to learn that one secret ingredient, which is also essential to good cooking, is love. This reminds me of the movie “Like Water Like Love” even though I was too immature to fully understand it at the time. :-)

    Happy blogging, Paul!

Very true Jean. With love, we can turn any mundane activity into an art. I guess you have applied it to your photography too. :)

Thank you for the compliment on my photography, Paul. :-)

By the way, speaking of travel, I have a travel blog that needs serious update. :-( I had a few posts on our one trip to China. I have a few more to write about China and Taiwan. My husband and I just came back from Vietnam and Cambodia. So lots waiting to be written. But hope you’d enjoy what’s there so far…
