Millions of gardeners will be banned from using peat compost under new plans to protect Britain’s bogs.

Well, it is rather ironic that gardeners, of all people, are being targeted by environmentalists. But it is not the end of the world where gardening is concerned.
Peat compost may contain lots of nutrients and retains water well. But peat-free alternative are available, even though they dry out faster and we end up wasting water.
Or we can always make our own home fertilizers using vegetable waste. It is free too!
